Day by Day
Day 1: Mnemba Snorkeling And Nungwi Turtle Aquarium
At 8:30 am after breakfast, you’ll be picked up for a Mnemba snorkeling adventure around the island, witnessing diverse marine life such as zebrafish, clownfish, turtles, and more. After exploring, the captain will take you back to shore. Next, visit either Mnarani Aquarium or Baraca Aquarium to observe and, in the case of Baraca, swim with sea turtles. Mnarani Aquarium, situated in Nungwi, was created to protect green turtles, and you can see them swimming in the lagoon. Around 4:00 pm, check in at the hotel in Nungwi.
Day 2: Beach Reasure At Nungwi Beach
Today, after breakfast, you’ll unwind at Nungwi Beach, a haven for beach lovers. While the picturesque beaches are inviting, Nungwi offers additional activities beyond relaxation. These optional extra activities, available at an additional cost, enhance your experience. Nungwi’s crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches in the North stand out, providing a paradise-like setting. The charm of smaller cities adds a special touch to your stay. Day 3: Safari Blue – Back To Nungwi
After breakfast, at 8:30 am, you’ll be picked up for Safari Blue, a full-day adventure on a traditional dhow from Fumba fishing village. The dhow, originally an Arab trading vessel, takes you through the Menai Bay conservation region, offering a chance to swim near sandbanks and witness dolphins. Explore a 200-year-old baobab tree, try to spot giant coconut crabs, and swim in a mangrove lagoon on Kwale Island. Snorkel in the crystal-clear turquoise waters and enjoy a seafood buffet lunch. Following breakfast, your guide will collect you for a Stone Town City Tour, delving into the historic and culturally rich town of Zanzibar. Explore sites like The Old Fort, House of Wonders, and the Old Slave Market/Anglican Cathedral, each offering unique insights into the island’s past. Additionally, visit Freddie Mercury’s Museum and the Palace Museum for a glimpse into Zanzibar’s royal and musical history. The tour extends to Changuu Private Island, known for its giant sea tortoise sanctuary and pristine beaches, combining nature, history, and adventure. Day 7: Spice Tour And Jozani Forest Tour
Following breakfast, our guide will pick you up from the hotel for a Spice Tour, a renowned excursion on Zanzibar, aptly named the Spice Island. In the 19th century, it gained prominence as one of the world’s leading spice producers, cultivating cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon. The tour takes you on a walking exploration of a spice farm (shamba), providing insights into the cultivation of spices, herbs, and tropical fruits such as clove, lemongrass, vanilla, and more. You’ll engage your senses by smelling and tasting these vibrant ingredients.
Subsequently, visit the Jozani Forest, a natural reserve located 35 km southeast of Zanzibar City. Covering an area of 10 square km, this forest, with trees over a century old, serves as a sanctuary for various fascinating animals including the Red Colobus monkey, Zanzibar leopard, and diverse bird species. After the tour, return to Stone Town for lunch, concluding a day of exploration into Zanzibar’s rich spices and natural wonders.
