A mountain on the horizon.
A town with race-day energy.
The Kilimanjaro Marathon brings runners to Moshi at the foot of Tanzania’s most famous mountain. The pleasure of the trip extends around the race: arriving in a town with its own daily rhythm, sharing the build-up with fellow runners and finishing with the people who came to cheer you on.
The familiar race choices are a 42.2 km marathon, 21.1 km half marathon and 5 km fun run. Choose the distance that fits your preparation and check the organiser’s current programme, eligibility, cut-offs and registration instructions. This is a road-race visit based in Moshi; a mountain climb is a separately planned expedition.
Plan your visit around 7 February 2027. We’ll check the organiser’s latest race and collection instructions as we arrange your stay.

A good marathon holiday starts by giving the race its own space. Protect the arrival day, leave time for the official registration and collection process, and make the supporter programme realistic. We’ll help with those practical details so you can focus on the run.
You bring the running goal.
We help connect the details.
Entry guidance & ticket support
We help you identify the organiser’s registration channel, understand the current entry or pass requirements and plan around official collection arrangements. Share your chosen distance and whether you have already entered. Any entry assistance remains subject to the organiser’s rules and availability.
Accommodation & local transport
Request a hotel that suits your budget, group and race-day transport plan. We review Kilimanjaro airport pickups, Moshi transfers, luggage and the journeys around registration. Race-day pickup and return points are agreed around the organiser’s access instructions and road restrictions.
Local guiding & spectator planning
Supporters need their own workable day: where to be, how to get there and how to reunite after the finish. We can also plan guided town or countryside experiences around the race, with the pace and timing agreed for the group.
Tell us whether you are travelling solo, as a couple, with a running club or with family. We will discuss room arrangements, arrival flights, dates, entry status and the time you want to keep for the rest of Tanzania.
Send your marathon travel outline or explore airport transfers.
Arrive with time.
Keep the race at the centre.
- Day 1 / Welcome to Moshi
Arrive, transfer to your accommodation and settle in. Choose the arrival date around your flight and the published entry-collection window.
- Day 2 / Race arrangements
Complete the required organiser-led collection or check-in. Review the start instructions, hotel departure, meeting point and supporter plan. Keep the rest of the day at your preferred pace.
- Day 3 / Race day
Follow the confirmed transport and race instructions for your distance. Agree where the group will meet afterward, and leave the afternoon open for celebration and rest.
- Day 4 / Continue or travel home
Depart with enough time for your flight, enjoy another Moshi day or begin an independently planned safari or island extension.
For the currently listed 2027 race, an arrival on 5 February would place race day on the third day of this outline. The organiser’s collection timetable may require an earlier arrival. This is a planning suggestion, not a confirmed event package.
From the finish line
to the next experience.
A guided Materuni or coffee-country visit can add a local chapter when the timing and activity level suit you. A private safari gives several days to wildlife; an island stay changes the pace completely. Plan those extensions with their own travel time rather than squeezing them into the race weekend.
If you want to combine the event with a Kilimanjaro climb, discuss the sequence, expedition duration and a realistic gap with your mountain team. Tell us your preparation and priorities so the trek and race each receive the time they need.
A clear entry.
A clear travel proposal.

Keep race registration and travel connected.
A race entry is registration for your chosen distance. Hotel nights, transport, guiding and extensions are separate travel arrangements unless your written proposal explicitly includes them. Ask about the full cost and cancellation terms before payment.
Pinnacle provides independent travel planning and entry guidance. The organiser controls registration, bibs, the programme and admission; an enquiry to us does not reserve a race place. Race entry is confirmed by the organiser.
Your proposal will identify the actual accommodation, transfers, local activities and any agreed entry assistance. Share your entry confirmation if already registered so the travel plan fits it.
A few useful answers.
When is the Kilimanjaro Marathon in 2027?
The current 2027 race date is Sunday, 7 February. Recheck the organiser’s latest instructions before paying for entry or non-refundable travel.
Can Pinnacle help with entry or tickets?
We assist with registration-channel guidance and travel around entry collection. Any agreed entry or pass assistance is subject to the organiser’s rules and availability. Race places are confirmed by the organiser, not by submitting a travel enquiry.
Can supporters and non-runners join the trip?
Yes. We can plan their accommodation, transfers, local guiding and an appropriate spectator programme around official access instructions. Tell us everyone’s interests and mobility needs.
Can you arrange accommodation and an airport pickup only?
Yes. Share your dates, flights, budget, room needs and race-entry status. We can discuss the travel support you need without requiring a safari or mountain package.
