Who it suits
Travellers drawn to southern Tanzania who want to experience all three parks within a week and accept the cost of an internal flight. Those seeking an entirely road-based trip should allow more days or choose fewer parks.
Three southern landscapes, two nights in each. Begin with Mikumi's plains, continue to Ruaha, then fly to Nyerere for wildlife viewing around the Rufiji landscape before returning to Dar es Salaam.

Day 3 is a substantial Mikumi-to-Ruaha road transfer via Iringa. Flying between Ruaha and Nyerere on Day 5 avoids another very long road sector. This still has travel days; it is not seven full game-drive days.

A glimpse of the wildlife and landscapes along the route.

This is the proposed itinerary. Your written proposal confirms accommodation, inclusions and any changes for your dates. Conditions and safe operating decisions can change the daily plan.
Depart early by private safari vehicle for Mikumi. After the road journey, enter the park for wildlife viewing if arrival time permits, then settle into your agreed camp or lodge.
Overnight: Mikumi area · night 1
Road transfer first; afternoon activity depends on traffic, entry times and your accommodation.Spend a full day exploring Mikumi's plains and accessible wildlife areas with your driver-guide. Keep the same base for a second night, with meals and the day's rhythm agreed around your game drives.
Overnight: Mikumi area · night 2
Leave early for the long road transfer through the southern highlands toward Ruaha. This day is reserved for travel and arrival at the selected accommodation; a full game drive is not included in the day's expectation.
Overnight: Ruaha area · night 3
Gate times and the camp's distance from the entrance shape departure and arrival arrangements.Explore Ruaha from your camp with time for its varied wildlife habitats and river landscapes. The guide plans viewing around current conditions, returning to the same accommodation tonight.
Overnight: Ruaha area · night 4
Transfer to the confirmed Ruaha airstrip and fly to the selected Nyerere airstrip. Meet your local safari team and transfer to camp. A river outing can be arranged this afternoon if arrival time, river conditions and camp operations allow.
Overnight: Nyerere area · night 5
The flight may include stops. Confirm the airstrips, baggage allowance and ground transfers in the proposal.Explore by vehicle with the Nyerere team. The proposed programme also includes one guided boat outing across the two-day stay, scheduled around river conditions and the camp; walking is an optional separately arranged activity.
Overnight: Nyerere area · night 6
Boat activity timing and any alternative in unsuitable conditions are agreed with the operator. After breakfast, return to Dar es Salaam by road with a suitable traffic and connection buffer. Ask for a flight-based finish or a Zanzibar extension if that better suits the rest of your holiday.
Overnight: Programme ends in Dar es Salaam
Return travel day; extra hotel nights or onward flights are arranged separately. The final written quote is the agreement on services and costs. Please check room sharing, transfers, meals, fees and any optional upgrades before confirming.
The drier June–October period is a useful starting point for this combination. Rain can affect roads, activities and camp operations; the team checks access and the selected properties for your dates.
Arrive in Dar es Salaam before Day 1 and start rested. Day 7 returns by road from Nyerere; do not plan a tight international connection. A Zanzibar finish or a fly-out from Nyerere is a separately quoted variation.
The Ruaha–Nyerere flight is central to this seven-day design. If it cannot operate for your dates, we re-plan the trip before confirmation rather than replace it with an unrealistic drive.
The flight can mean meeting a different ground team in Nyerere. Your proposal specifies private or shared camp activities and any vehicle changes; a shared aircraft is not a private charter.
Use the confirmed carrier's baggage rules. Oversized or excess luggage needs advance arrangements.
Two nights in a park area may mean inside the park or at a nearby lodge. Your proposal names each property, its location and the access fees, rather than treating all stays as equivalent.
It combines the first two parks by road, uses the Ruaha–Nyerere air connection, and finishes closer to Dar es Salaam. It includes all three requested parks without an all-road return from Ruaha.
Ask us to extend the programme or reduce the number of parks. Simply removing the flight would make the same seven-day plan much more travel-heavy.
Yes, it is part of the proposed scope and must appear in the full quote. Seats, fare and operating schedule are confirmed for your dates.
No. One boat outing is proposed, subject to safe operating conditions. A walking safari needs separate arrangements, suitable participants, availability and an additional quotation unless expressly included.
Tips are customary and appreciated, but voluntary. These are Pinnacle’s suggested planning ranges for good service, not compulsory fees. Tips are additional to your package price unless your written quote expressly includes them, and never replace wages or determine the care you receive.
| Role | Suggested amount | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Private safari driver-guide | US$20–30 | Per vehicle, per safari day, shared by your party |
| Dedicated camping-safari cook | US$10–15 | Per cook, per safari day, shared by your party |
| Lodge or camp staff | US$5–10 | Per guest, per night, through the shared staff tip box |
Example: a four-person party choosing US$25 per vehicle per day for a seven-day safari would give its driver-guide US$175 in total, or US$43.75 per guest. Lodge tips are budgeted separately for the nights actually stayed.
Give your driver-guide and dedicated cook their tips directly at the end of their service. Use each lodge’s shared staff tip box and check whether a gratuity is already included. Separate walking guides, rangers and activity teams have their own arrangements; ask before budgeting for them.
Cash in Tanzanian shillings or accepted US-dollar notes is practical; agree the currency and conversion beforehand. Prepare smaller denominations. EUR and GBP amounts depend on the exchange rate, so agree any equivalent rather than assuming the website’s package conversion applies to tips.
