Zanzibar, after sunset.
Come for the music.

Live African music in Stone Town. A beach night in Kendwa. Build a holiday around the event you love, then give the rest of the island time of its own. We help with tickets, accommodation, local guides and your journey home after the music.

African music / Stone Town

Sauti za Busara.
Hear the continent live.

Sauti za Busara brings African artists and audiences together in Zanzibar. Its programming crosses traditional and contemporary styles, with a history that includes taarab, jazz, hip-hop, reggae and other sounds from the continent and its diaspora. Come with a favourite artist in mind, then leave room for a performance that surprises you.

The announced 2027 festival dates are 19–21 March in Stone Town, Zanzibar. We’ll help you plan your stay around the festival, then check the artist line-up, performance times and ticket options as the programme develops.

Check the organiser’s official festival dates ↗ · The announcement does not confirm pass or travel availability.

Choose the pass for your actual visit.

The festival publishes different pass categories and eligibility conditions. Review access, seating where applicable, identity requirements, refunds and the current programme through the official ticket information. We can help connect the travel around your chosen pass.

Let the daytime holiday complement the music. We arrange a local guide to introduce Stone Town’s streets and Swahili history, with time for lunch and a relaxed return before the evening performances. The point is to enjoy the performances without turning the whole stay into a sequence of rushed transfers.

A practical festival-first outline

Stay close to the music.
Move to the beach afterward.

  1. Before the festival / Arrive and orientate

Settle into your chosen Stone Town base, confirm the venue and access instructions, and plan collection or admission arrangements for the pass you hold.

  2. Festival days / Keep the afternoons flexible

Combine short guided visits with enough time for meals and the published performances. Agree your evening meeting point and return transport.

  3. After the festival / Change the pace

Continue to your preferred Zanzibar coast for a few quieter nights, or plan a separate flight to Pemba or Mafia if the wider route works.

For the currently announced 2027 dates, discuss arriving on 18 March or earlier and moving to the beach after 21 March. The final venue arrangements and programme may change the best hotel location and daily timing.

Beach nights / Kendwa Rocks

The Full Moon Party.
An evening with the ocean beside you.

Kendwa Rocks’ Full Moon Party has its own Zanzibar history, with the host tracing the event to 1996. Its beach setting, DJs and performance elements create a different kind of island evening: an occasion to gather by the sea and give the night its own place in the holiday.

Begin with the host’s announced party date. A full moon on an astronomy calendar does not, by itself, confirm an event. Kendwa Rocks publishes a calendar and links to its ticket channel; check the selected night, programme and admission conditions before you arrange the stay.

Choose a base for the night you want.

A Kendwa or suitable nearby northern-coast stay can make the return easier. If you are staying elsewhere, arrange the outbound journey, agreed pickup and return before the party. Tell us the hotel address, group size and how late you expect to stay.

Some guests want to be close to the energy; others want a quiet room after enjoying the event. We ask about both. Confirm the property’s location and likely event-night atmosphere before booking.

Leave the next morning open where possible. Confirm any age or admission restrictions with the host and choose the event for the people travelling with you.

Tickets and travel.
Thought through together.

Pinnacle helps with event-trip planning, official ticket-channel guidance, suitable accommodation, airport and hotel transfers, local guiding and beach extensions. Share the event, year, dates, ticket status, budget and number of travellers so we can shape a workable proposal.

We check the right base for the event and the transport it needs. Stone Town and Kendwa are separate parts of Unguja; avoid planning a late-night festival visit as though every beach hotel were nearby. Agree pickup points, waiting arrangements and the return journey in writing.

Your event admission is controlled by the host. Any agreed ticket assistance is subject to its availability and conditions, and the proposal identifies whether passes are included or paid separately. Pinnacle is an independent travel operator; an enquiry does not reserve a festival pass or party admission.

Give the island another chapter

Music in the evening.
The ocean in your own time.

Choose the coast for the days around the event: Kendwa for a northern beach base, a quieter village coast for longer walks, or an east-coast setting for a different lagoon rhythm. Your dates, tides and priorities guide the choice.

Pemba can add forest, spice country and a quieter island stay. Mafia can add seasonal whale shark planning and Chole Bay reef experiences. Both need a separate connection and enough nights to justify the travel; we review their seasons and flights alongside the event dates.

Before you travel

A few useful answers.

When is Sauti za Busara in 2027?

The organiser currently announces 19–21 March 2027 in Stone Town, Zanzibar. Check its website for the developing artist line-up, venue map, pass conditions and any subsequent changes.

Does every full moon mean there is a Kendwa party?

Use Kendwa Rocks’ published event calendar and current announcements to confirm the party night. Do not book on the basis of the astronomical full moon date alone.

Can you help if I already have tickets?

Yes. Tell us which event and pass you have, the dates, arrival flight and hotel preferences. We can discuss the accommodation, transfers, local guiding and any extension you need.

Can I stay at the beach during Sauti za Busara?

You can discuss that option, but the hotel’s location and the evening return journey matter. A Stone Town base during the festival followed by a beach stay is often a practical starting plan.
