First-time safari travellers who want the three northern highlights within four days and are comfortable with some long road days. Couples, friends and families can request an itinerary adapted to their party.
Day 2 is deliberately an early crater visit followed by the drive to central Serengeti. Day 3 is your uninterrupted Serengeti day. Day 4 is primarily the return drive, not another full game-drive day.

A glimpse of the wildlife and landscapes along the route.

This is the proposed itinerary. Your written proposal confirms accommodation, inclusions and any changes for your dates. Conditions and safe operating decisions can change the daily plan.
Leave Arusha for Tarangire and explore with your private driver-guide. After the day's wildlife viewing, continue to Karatu for dinner and a stay positioned for the early crater departure.
Overnight: Karatu · night 1
Set out early for the crater descent and game drive. After your visit, ascend and continue to central Serengeti for the overnight stay. Your guide balances the crater experience with the distance and park hours ahead.
Overnight: Central Serengeti · night 2
A long combined wildlife-viewing and transfer day; an early departure matters.Explore from the same base with no camp move today. Choose a full-day outing with picnic lunch or a rhythm of morning and afternoon drives, agreed with your guide and the camp.
Overnight: Central Serengeti · night 3
Your full Serengeti day, with time to follow worthwhile sightings.Leave with time for wildlife sightings along the exit route, then continue through the conservation area and back to Arusha. A separately quoted flight from Seronera to Arusha or Zanzibar can replace this long road return if schedules work.
Overnight: Programme ends in Arusha; fly-out variation by arrangement
Substantial road transfer. A fly-out changes the transport, transfer and price details. The final written quote is the agreement on services and costs. Please check room sharing, transfers, meals, fees and any optional upgrades before confirming.
Dates can be planned throughout the year. The dry season is a popular starting point for wildlife viewing; green-season trips have different scenery and driving conditions. This route does not promise a migration crossing.
Arrive in Arusha before Day 1. The four safari days exclude international arrival and departure days. Allow a hotel night after the return rather than relying on an early evening flight from JRO.
Ask for a mid-range or luxury lodge and tented-camp proposal. The exact properties, room arrangements and meal plan are named before you book; a tented camp can have a proper bed and private bathroom.
Safari tracks can be dusty and uneven. Tell us about mobility needs, back problems and children's ages so we can assess the route, vehicle and accommodation.
Bring light layers, a warmer layer for early starts and the highlands, sun protection and your camera or binoculars.
Your guide follows wildlife activity and park rules. Animal sightings and encounters cannot be guaranteed.
The five-day itinerary adds another central Serengeti night and another full wildlife-viewing day. The same early-crater-then-Serengeti sequence remains.
Yes. Day 2 ends in central Serengeti, which is why we start the crater visit early and keep the onward drive in view.
We can replace the Day 4 road return with a suitable Seronera–Zanzibar flight. Flights, baggage and island transfers are quoted separately.
We propose named accommodation around your dates and comfort preference, then confirm availability and room sharing before booking.
Tips are customary and appreciated, but voluntary. These are Pinnacle’s suggested planning ranges for good service, not compulsory fees. Tips are additional to your package price unless your written quote expressly includes them, and never replace wages or determine the care you receive.
| Role | Suggested amount | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Private safari driver-guide | US$20–30 | Per vehicle, per safari day, shared by your party |
| Dedicated camping-safari cook | US$10–15 | Per cook, per safari day, shared by your party |
| Lodge or camp staff | US$5–10 | Per guest, per night, through the shared staff tip box |
Example: a four-person party choosing US$25 per vehicle per day for a seven-day safari would give its driver-guide US$175 in total, or US$43.75 per guest. Lodge tips are budgeted separately for the nights actually stayed.
Give your driver-guide and dedicated cook their tips directly at the end of their service. Use each lodge’s shared staff tip box and check whether a gratuity is already included. Separate walking guides, rangers and activity teams have their own arrangements; ask before budgeting for them.
Cash in Tanzanian shillings or accepted US-dollar notes is practical; agree the currency and conversion beforehand. Prepare smaller denominations. EUR and GBP amounts depend on the exchange rate, so agree any equivalent rather than assuming the website’s package conversion applies to tips.
